When to Book Holiday Light Installation in Prosper, TX (and Why the Calendar Fills by October)

Every December, homeowners across Prosper call around for holiday light installation and hear the same answer: fully booked. It is not a sales tactic. In north DFW, the holiday lighting calendar genuinely fills earlier than almost anywhere else in the country, because Prosper installers now serve two major lighting holidays back to back: Diwali on November 8 in 2026, and Christmas right behind it. This guide lays out the real booking timeline so you get the install date, the design, and the pricing you want.

Why Prosper's Holiday Lighting Season Starts Earlier Than You Think

In most American suburbs, holiday light installation is a four-week sprint from Halloween to Thanksgiving. Prosper is different for two reasons. First, the area's large South Asian community lights homes for Diwali, which lands in late October or the first half of November each year, so a full install wave happens weeks before the Christmas rush even begins. Second, Prosper homes are large, with long rooflines and two-story elevations that take real crew time. Bigger jobs plus an earlier first wave means fewer available slots for everyone, on every install company's calendar.

The Month-by-Month Booking Timeline

  • July and August: the smart-money window. This is when returning customers renew and planners lock in. You get first choice of install dates, time for a proper design consultation, and, with many companies, the best pricing of the year. Booking now for a November install is not early in Prosper. It is on time.
  • September: the calendar tightens. Good installers begin filling their late-October Diwali window and their early-November Christmas window. You can still get a strong date, but the premium slots are going.
  • October: Diwali installs are running. Crews are on roofs daily. If you want lights up for Diwali on November 8, this is truly the last call, and you will be taking whatever slot remains.
  • Early November: the Christmas crunch. The two weeks before Thanksgiving, which falls on November 26 in 2026, are the most requested install dates of the year. These almost never go to callers who first reached out in November.
  • Late November and December: leftovers. Some companies stop taking new installs entirely. Others can fit smaller jobs between service calls. Either way, you are choosing from what is left, often at peak-season pricing.

What Early Booking Actually Gets You

Booking in late summer is not just about getting on the schedule. It means a real design consultation instead of a rushed quote, custom-cut lights fabricated for your roofline before the fabrication backlog builds, your choice of install week, whether that is pre-Diwali or pre-Thanksgiving, and locked-in pricing before demand peaks. It also means your takedown gets scheduled properly in January instead of drifting into February.

A Note for Families Celebrating Both Diwali and Christmas

If your household lights up for Diwali and keeps the celebration going through Christmas and New Year, early booking matters twice as much, and pays off twice as well. One installation in mid-to-late October, designed to work for both holidays, covers your entire season with a single install and a single takedown. Ask your installer to design for the full November-through-January window from the start.
